Never have I ever been so engrossed and emotionally involved in a novel. Hadassah's trials, tribulations, and ultimate triumphs will inspire and remind you of the greatness and goodness of our God.

This book is the first book I’ve read from Francine Rivers and it’s one of my favorites!
This book has challenged me so much in my faith and shown me that action must come from declaration in Jesus Christ! Hadassah’s struggle while…

this book is possibly one of the saddest books ive ever read (and ive read a lot of books) its a wonderful novel on what persecution of the Church looks like.
It is very difficult to get past so much of the historical reality that is described rather graphically but it provides a very valuable insight into the early church. It will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. One big thing I have…

I've considered this series the most powerful Christian witness in fiction since I read them at the age of 14. My 14 yr old son just read this book in one night, he's a voracious reader but doesn't do all-nighters. He wants the second…

Okay, so I can't say I was totally impressed, and the plot was really confusing at first, but it gets better as it goes along. By the end, you're gripping the edge of your seat, but then the ending is really really really AWFUL! However, I…

One of the best historical fiction books I've read. Admittedly, as a Christian, it was particularly interesting. I've learned so much about the Roman era through this and the first book, Voice in the Wind. Almost like a Pillars of the…

This is the first book that I have read which falls under the genre of Christian Fiction, highly recommended by my daughter. If you enjoy historical fiction, this places you in the Roman empire at a time of the fall of Jerusalem, as…

Now that I've read the next book in this series I understand how all the information in this book leads into the next which is excellent. I'm happy I stuck it out and read A Voice in the Wind.

I enjoyed reading these three Mark of the Lion series books and I will read them again in the future. I could relate to these characters because their stories are written in a way that I can relate to their lives.

A great read…I loved it, offered it my reluctant daughters, and they loved it! The historical details are remarkable.

One of the best series I've ever read- and I'm a voracious reader. Loved it- it had everything - suspense, thriller, romance - but in a such an uplifting and encouraging way. Well written!! Which I find sadly lacking these days. I ditto…

Okay, so if you are in the middle of exam week and really should be studying, I do NOT recommend starting this series because you will walk in on examination date with minor anxiety issues. Just sayin'. With that said, this is such a good…

I'm glad for Banana197's comment. I will have to give this book another try as I read the first three chapters and couldn't remember a thing. I NEVER give up on books, but gave up on this one.
Will have to try again.

This is one of my absolute favorite series. warning: the beginning seems a little boring. press on, and you'll find it worth your time! NOTE: don't start it without having the second on hand! especially since the second often takes a while…

By far, this is my favorite Christian series. Rivers has created a masterpiece. I fell in love with the character of Hadassah, and the plot is empowering and beautiful. The first novel is my favorite, but they are all great.
