A pitch-perfect, emotionally riveting debut novel about the fracturing of a marriage and a family - from an award-winning young writer with superb storytelling instincts. A love story that begins with the end of a marriage. Follow a modern family through past and present, from the San Francisco public health clinic where Abe walks in to volunteer and falls in love at first sight with Cassandra, to the suburban funeral home where Cassandra grew up. As Cassandra, Abe, and Elizabeth navigate the passage of time, they come to terms with the strange legacies they inherit from their parents, and with themselves.

The writing style was very disjointed and rambling and did nothing to move the story along. I was very disappointed and sorry I wasted my time. She talked endlessly about meaningless things.
