This was by far the best book. The long, repetitive battles of its predecessor are gone, and the fighting pays better attention to inner thoughts and emotions. Although I guessed what was in the Vault of Souls in the middle of Brisingr, it still was a nice twist. I really started to like most of the characters, and I gained a much better understanding of Nasuada. The climax seemed a bit forced, though, and it didn't seem likely that Eragon could have cast that spell so easily. It seemed like too easy a way out. Also, it never really seemed like Saphira and Firnen got to know each other that much before falling in love, and Firnen was still pretty young. Although they're dragons, so I suppose it works differently for them. I liked that it was realistic in the sense that not all their troubles were over after defeating Galbatorix, and that everyone didn't yield to Nasuada easily. Those things would happen were this to be a real political situation. I also really liked that the Urgals became so developed. In the first and most of the second book, they were just portrayed as brutish monsters, but now I can see that they have a whole culture and moral values. No society is pure evil, so I thought that this was very good for the story. Overall, great book!
