The White Album might be the most polarizing and misunderstood album of all time. For those with strictly pop musical sensibilities, this album was seen as having a couple good songs and then a lot of pretentious artsiness. To others, this album was praised for the risk taken by a major band in their prime to experiment with tape looping and other ways of sound manipulation as the main element of some songs while standard song structures took a backseat. This album was daring in sound and content, acting as a political and musical statement.
